View Full Version : Quietly addressing an issue

No sense in more drama on the public boards, but my reputation with your guild is apparently gone a direction I did not know and I wanted to address a couple of the issues with you...hating me's fine, hating me for the wrong reasons is not.

I ran with a number of Apoth folks prior to my applying for weeks, including a couple of officers. We became close, and they invited me to apply more than once but I'd read your rules and didn't want to apply until I was 60. When I hit 60, I applied and was very excited.

Then, one afternoon, a "personal" situation occured and it was made clear to me that my application would be rejected out of hand because of my failure to comply.

I retracted my application because, quite frankly, it scared me. No drama, no scene, just quietly pull out and quit playing for a few days, contemplated leaving the game, etc. I came back to playing, saw the opinion thread, and offered my opinion...nothing more. Any condemnations I made were addressed SPECIFICALLY at Blades of Wrath, based upon their activities and comments in-game as well as in-thread.

I do not feel DKP is the fairest solution. That is my opinion. I've been in DKP guilds half of my MMO career, am currently in 2 DKP alliances and have yet to complain...I don't have to like it to follow.

My recent application to AoD was based in part on your need for good tanks, and the fact that the people who were rude to me are no longer on your roster. I did not lie about who I am, and hoped that, under the new management, I would have a different experience. I have not shown unprovoked disrespect to any member of this guild, in or out of game, and would appreciate the same in return.

I'll not bother you again, but I respect the guild enough to at least explain my actions.

Just curious, but I find it...ugh I dunno the word..."dramaish" just if you felt someone was disrespectful to you...1 member out of the 60+ I know i've read a lot of your posts on the realm forums, and people that do read those forums know how much you detest dkp! I think it's the same for Orcrage as well...don't know him in game, but i'll be damned if I ever had to group with him, just because of his actions on the boards. Your reputation follows you everwhere, and you are quite outspoken about anything and everything. Sometimes it is good to just shh! Sometimes O_o

I give everyone a fair chance all the same. I'm the last of the original founding Apotheosis/Avatars of Discord members to reach the raid level of 60, so I have no clue what happened before and would rather not discuss it now since it appears to be a touchy issue. Even though we did lose a few from our roster, many of us still remain friends in game, which is most likely why your "reputation", per se, carried over.

We agree to disagree on the DKP issue. That's a non-issue to me and I haven't thought about that thread since the day I posted on it. But honestly it does seem ironic that someone who detests DKP would re-apply to a DKP guild. We do appreciate your and everyone's interest in the guild, but on our end it is just uncommon to see someone who is strongly against how we run the guild be interested in joining it.

I have nothing against you personally and in game, and if you ever had any questions about anything with hunters in general or more specific stuff, I'd be glad to help in any way possible. I've always been willing to help anyone unless they are begging for gold/items. It also seems that you understand our point of view and maybe in the best interests of both parties it's better that we both go our own way.

I think it's great that you help lead some new people into the MC instance. It takes a player with a lot of patience to be able to do that, and I do wish you the best of luck with that going forward. I hope that everyone that plays this game gets to accomplish everything they would like to do, as that is why we enjoy this game.

I'm not an officer so I can't really speak for the guild as a whole. I also do not wish to create a debate on this thread, but at least attempt to explain things from our end.
