Was talking with Phalen yesterday and told him about AggroAlert, an add on. Some of you guys may have it, and if you don't, I'd highly recommend it.

For rogues: if you pull aggro, it will warn you in the middle of the screen (set it to giganto text for maximum fun).

For warriors: it will warn you when someone pulls aggro from you (haven't tested this).

This should make things a tad easier for the healers, as well as tanks.

Target of target in CT_raid does this for you. If you see your name pop up then you know you have aggro. During fights like shaz there is ZERO reason that someone shouldn't know that shaz is on them. For non raids and for extra security this mod would be great I am sure.

It might be the default action, I'm not too sure, but I know that you can make the Target of Target box flash a different color when it changes. Useful, maybe, for those that need a more visual clue to check it, rather than just the name changing.

stupid question # 54436578 coming up here, okie? ^_^

I really can't see but 2 reasons to use this. One, as a way to "point fingers at people screwing up" - which I don't see as a constructive reason. and Two, to possibly help someone who overaggros a lot to try to "train" themselves to throttle it down so they don't.

Can anyone else come up with any other reasons why this might actually be useful in the situations we're in. Like I said, this is probly another stupid ravenquestion(tm).

I'd see the greater use being in training someone who overaggroes. But, realistically, if the large number of deaths they suffer doesn't teach them to tone down, a little text box flashing their name won't do it either.

For fights where you may be the target regardless of aggro. Things like shaz, molten giants etc are going to jump onto people and this helps them react to it faster.

Yup, Zel hit it on the nose. If any mob targets you, such as Shazz, then it will alert you in big red letters (or you can just set it to the cool skull icon).

I find it useful because I need a big cue b/c I'll sometimes be reading the combat log to make sure my feint landed, and need something to alert me aside from a little name changing. Also, like Aranoth said, it's good for testing aggro limits (like wielding a new wep for the first time).

Its also nice to know as a healer who is being hit at that moment. Say a rogue gets targeted at rag you have about 2 seconds max to save them and with this box you will see they are the target before you see their health go to zero. Knowing who is always pulling too much aggro is nice as well because like what has been said before you need some ppl to tone it down a bit. Its very useful and constructive as far as I have ever seen and I am very glad i have it cause tanking I like to know that it is on me and the second it changes i can be a bit quicker with the taunt rather than just noticing that Im not getting hit anymore as the rogue overaggroing beside me gets squished.

okie that makes sense - I decided to ask people that might know, since I'm just a stupid cleansebot and don't get to do fun stuph like that. :P

You cleanse bots are a lot more important than us punching bags on a lot of fights :)

perhaps, but it's definitely not very entertaining. With Decursive loaded, I usually do one of two things - if the action is a bit more leisurely, like in Flame Lords and Dogs, I watch the cooldown animation and hit the key when it's ready. Or in hectic times like boss fights, I just hammer the damned key and ignore the spew of "no curative spells are ready yet". Whoo. :P

Needless to say, this doesn't encourage me to take much of a role in the coming up with strats and such to do. And with there being some raids I haven't even drawn a melee weapon in anger - *yawn* sometimes it's hard to resist the temptation to read a book or do my nails during raids. :P

I'd like to level up one of my alts to raidable level, to see if it's any more fun on that side of things. More than once I've told our head tanking maniacs that I admire their ability to jump in a prevent a wipe if another designated tank goes *splat* I try to do that if stuff gets lose on Lava PAcks or the like, and they usually laugh at me. :( *sad mew*
